Haigh’s Mocha Martini


EASY 4-5 SERVES 10 MIN PREP 5 MIN COOKING
This mocha martini is built on a foundation of Haigh's mocha sauce and smooth Kahlúa, crowned with a dusting of finely grated chocolate. As you sip, the garnish melts on the tongue, providing an immediate, intense chocolate hit that perfectly complements the coffee-laced finish.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup (60ml) mocha sauce
- 1 shot (30ml) vodka
- 1 shot (30ml) coffee liqueur
- Handful of ice
- 20g Haigh’s dark chocolate pastilles,
grated, to garnish
Mocha sauce
- 2 tablespoons (40ml) espresso
- ¼ cup (55g) caster sugar
- ¼ cup (60ml) full cream milk
- ¼ cup (60ml) thickened cream
- 75g Haigh’s dark chocolate pastilles
Method
- For the mocha sauce, combine espresso, sugar, milk and cream together in a small saucepan, over a medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil then remove from heat and allow to cool for 5 minutes, before adding chocolate, stirring occasionally until melted. Allow syrup to cool to room temperature.
- Using a cocktail shaker, combine mocha sauce, vodka, Kahlua and a handful of ice together, securing top well before shaking. Pour martini into prepared glass and garnish with grated chocolate.
