New Store Opens in Sydney’s QVB

December 7, 2012

On Wednesday, December 5th we celebrated the opening of our 14th store in Sydney's iconic Queen Victoria Building (QVB).

The store was officially opened by The Lord Mayor of Sydney Clover Moore with members of the Haigh family, joint Managing Directors Alister and Simon Haigh and chairman John Haigh.

It is our second Sydney store after first opening in the Strand Arcade in 2005. The new store has been fitted out to complement the heritage aspects of the beautiful building built circa 1898. The character and architecture provided a fittingly historic location for Haigh’s as we celebrate 97 years in business.

And in keeping with the experience Haigh’s customers have come to expect we fitted out the store with high-quality materials  including jarrah, Tasmanian Oak, marble, glass and a magnificent curved display cabinet.

QVB is an iconic shopping destination in Sydney. Its array of high-quality retailers combined with the site on the corner of George and Druitt streets makes the ideal setting for our flagship Sydney store.

We are all very excited and look forward to welcoming many more customers.  Our team worked very hard to get the store ready in time for Christmas. It opens with beautiful displays of our Spirit of Christmas 2012 gift range; with windows decorated with rich red, green and gold.
