Celebrating Ten Teddies Collection

August 1, 2013

Our famous Teddy Tins original artwork will be showcased as part of this year's South Australian Living Arts Festival

The Ten Teddies exhibition celebrates the iconic illustrations that have adorned the sought-after tins over the last 6 years.  Created by South Australian artist Katharine Lahn the Teddy illustrations have featured on a Haigh’s Teddy Tin every Christmas since 2006.

He has also appeared on several special edition tins at other times and has become a collector’s item amongst Haigh’s chocolate lovers.

All ten original illustrations will be on display at our Visitor Centre on Greenhill Road from August 2 along with the original tins in the series.

Katharine, who has worked with Haigh’s Chocolates for over 14 years, has captured Teddy on his many travels including a visit to the Northern Hemisphere to catch up with a cuddly cousin at Christmas and a trip to Haigh’s Strand Arcade Store in Sydney.

The illustrations are painted in acrylic and each one took approximately 30 hours to complete. The traditional style of the illustrations beautifully complements our other collections.

Katharine also illustrates packaging for the Chocolate Frog Gift Box and our Easter Bilby ranges.

This exhibition is a great opportunity for people to see all the Teddy artwork together for the first time.

The Ten Teddies exhibition will be on display at Haigh’s Chocolates Visitor Centre, 154 Greenhill Rd, Parkside, throughout the SALA Festival (2 August-25 August 2013).
